| Artist Statement: We rely on plants in order to live and the roots of the plant are the mechanism by which plants absorb water in order to live. In this quilt I'm honoring this delicate and intricate system so crucial to our lives. |
| Materials and Techniques: Silk crepe de chine "roots" hand painted using roketsu-zome technique with acid dyes. Indian silk doupioni border. Polyester batting. Machine quilted using nylon monofilament and polyester threads. |
