Once again, dampen the entire piece of silk evenly with water.

Apply more colors of dye to the design. Blend them in so that they are a lighter tint than their natural saturated color. Even with the blending, when dyes are applied on top of a previous layer of dye, they will be darker and this is part of the intended effect. The dyes will not penetrate the fabric where wax has been applied.

Wait for the silk to dry and apply wax with a brush over the dyed strokes.
