Title: Wetlands Dream Revisited
Dimensions: 30" w x 30" h
Artist Statement: This is my imagined restoration of Bair Island in the San Francisco Bay, near Redwood City, California. The current landscape of Bair Island is shown in the work Puzzle of Salt - most of the wetlands have been converted to salt ponds. This work is similar in composition to Wetlands Dream however I have changed the colors to be more tropical since it will take a long time to restore these wetlands and global climate change will make the local climate hotter.
Materials and Techniques: Silk crepe de chine hand painted using remezol dyes and water soluble resist. Silk broadcloth backing and polyester batting; machine quilted with rayon and polyester embroidery thread.

Exhibition History: April 11-13, 2008 in Sense of Place at the International Quilt Festival, Chicago, IL and July 25-27, 2008 in Long Beach, CA.
