Title: Where the Water Goes
Dimensions: 20 x 20 inches
Artist Statement: This weaving and quilt is an abstract expression of the transformations that take place when we move water from one location to another and change its use. Crystal blue natural lakes throughout the west have been drained and turned into dessicated playas of toxic dust so that we may fill our swimming pools and water our lawns in the desert cities of the west. Is it worth it?
Materials and Techniques: The weaving is made from strips of 100% silk crepe de chine, jaquard, charmeuse, chiffon, and metallic silk organza. The border fabric is 100% silk crepe de chine. The quilt batting is 100% cotton and the stitching is done with 100% nylon monofiliament thread.
Status: Available for sale.
