Silk is a beautiful medium for expressing your passions in a visual way. We will use a variety of silk painting materials and techniques such as acid dyes, gutta serti resist, wax and pre-treatment of silk to achieve results ranging from painterly representations to abstract patterns. We will also explore the elements of color, line, texture, space and movement. Your passions will be the source of inspiration and we'll use the techniques and elements to turn them into a visual language. There will be slide presentations, demonstrations, design exercises and group discussions in addition to participants developing their own expressive work. Ideas for finishing and display will be addressed.
