July - November 2015

I was the first of four artists to participate in the Palo Alto Art Center and Junior Museum and Zoo's Creative Ecology Art and Science Residency. During the first stage of the residency, I worked with art and science educators and the community to explore East Palo Alto's newest Open Space, Cooley Landing; a short documentary video by Herb Moore captures our experiences. During the second phase I made artwork informed and inspired by the experience with open studio hours at the Palo Alto Art Center. The residency culminated in an exhibition of artwork. During the first two phases, I engaged the community in making two artworks, a temporary land art installation and silk paintings for a community quilt.
