"Golden Gate" of the Sierra
Paradise Valley connects with the Wood's Creek drainage and we followed the creek up to the intersection with the John Muir Trail. The park service built this spiffy suspension bridge in 1988 after the smaller bridge over Woods Creek washed out one too many times. For obvious reasons, it's affectionately called the "Golden Gate of the Sierra." A sign at the entrance to the bridge says "One person at a time on bridge" and the bridge really gets rocking about a third of the way across.
